Le M.D is a very steep south-east facing slope in Chavignol and stands for for Mont Damné, literally “damned slope” because it is so difficult to harvest. Out of the 400 or so producers in Sancerre, only a dozen own parcels of this famous vineyard. Normally the MD takes about 3 years before it reaches its peak
